Chapters 7-8

In chapters 7-8 Esther is very unhappy about the way women are looked at by other men around the world. Men are allowed to have sex with as many women as they want and are still looked at as being "pure" to other women. This is totally different for women, if a woman has sex with more than one man she is looked at as being not worthy and not very "pure" at all. This really frustrates Esther because she finds it crazy and absurd that men have the right to do whatever they want and women can"t. She doesn't see the difference between a man having the right to be "pure" whenever he has sex, but a woman can't. When Esther finally meets Constantin she wants to have sex with him because she thinks she can actually be worthy to him. When  she meets up with him she thinks that he will try and get with her, but he does the exact opposite from that. When they get together they just hold hands and Esther says this is the happiest moment of her life. Due to Constantin not trying to have sex with her she is very shocked. I find this very interesting because the guys in this novel seem to only seek out for that kind of things.
